MockVise ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your personal information when you use our mobile app, website, and related services (collectively, the "Services"). Our Services connect job seekers with real experts for mock interviews, resume reviews, and career coaching.

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly:

Account details: name, email address, phone number, password
Profile information: job title, experience, education, skills, resume/CV uploads, cover letters, portfolio links
Expert-specific data: credentials, years of experience, availability calendar, areas of expertise, verification documents
Session data: scheduled interview details, notes, feedback, scores, chat messages, and any audio/video recordings or transcripts
Payment information: processed via Stripe — we do not store full card numbers
Communications: messages you send to us or to experts through the platform

Information collected automatically:

Usage and device data: IP address, device type, operating system, app version, browser type, unique device identifiers, and usage logs
Cookies and tracking technologies: analytics cookies, crash reports, and performance data
Location data (if enabled): approximate location derived from IP or device settings for matching experts in your region

3. How We Use Your Information

Provide and improve the Services (match job seekers with experts, schedule and conduct mock interviews, deliver resume feedback and career coaching)
Verify expert credentials and maintain platform quality
Communicate with you (appointment reminders, feedback summaries, support messages)
Process payments and manage subscriptions
Analyze usage trends and personalize recommendations (e.g., suggested experts)
Ensure safety, security, and compliance (fraud prevention, abuse detection)
Comply with legal obligations or respond to lawful requests

We do not use your data for automated decision-making that produces legal or significant effects.

4. Session Transcriptions & Recordings

If you participate in mock interviews, session data may be collected and used for:

Improving overall service quality and refining interview techniques
Facilitating expert training and onboarding
Generating anonymized insights for internal research and product development
Validating refund requests related to service quality

Session recordings and feedback are retained for 12 months after a session unless you request earlier deletion. Transcriptions are anonymized where feasible to safeguard individual privacy.

5. How We Share Your Information

We do NOT sell your personal information. We share information only as follows:

With experts/job seekers: When you book a mock interview or request a resume review, we share only the necessary profile details so the session can occur. Experts see your information only during active sessions.
Service providers: Third-party vendors who help us operate the app (hosting, analytics, email delivery, payment processors). These providers are contractually required to protect your data.
Legal requirements: When required by law, subpoena, court order, or to protect rights/safety.
Business transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (with notice to you where required).

We do not share personal information with advertisers or for cross-context behavioral advertising.

6. Data Retention

We keep your information only as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services and comply with legal obligations. You can request deletion of your account and data at any time by contacting us at privacy@mockvise.com.

7. Cookies, Tracking, and Analytics

We use essential cookies to run the app. Analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics) help us understand usage. You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings or the consent prompt. We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals where applicable.

MockVise is not intended for individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn we have collected such data, we will delete it promptly.

11. International Users

If you are outside the United States, your data may be transferred to and processed in the U.S. We take appropriate safeguards to protect it in accordance with applicable data protection laws.
